I was born and raised on a farm in a small town in Southeastern Wisconsin. At the early age of 2, I began distinguishing colors and by the age of 7, I was arranging furniture and decorating rooms. Putting color together has come natural to me ever since I can remember. My High School curriculum emphasized art and design. After graduating High School, my life dramatically changed when I was diagnosed with severe Crohn’s Disease which became life threatening. I spent days and nights in the hospital and at the age of 27, I underwent an experimental autologous bone marrow transplant. Since the transplant, I have not looked back, finding a renewed passion for colors and expression. I strive to inspire others by my drive to succeed. Most of my paintings are inspired by battling Crohn's Disease. I am a biomedical research scientist by day and fall asleep with a paint brush by night. My life is a complete balance of science and art... my yin and yang.
